Questions and Answers about M-N-M Toy Fox Terriers

Just curious or need to know more information? Well, we can help you here.

Can we hold a puppy for you?
Yes, we  certainly do accept deposits for reserving our puppies. It's best to give us a call or send us an email so we can give you the most up-to-date information on the availability of our puppies. We may not always have openings for immediate reservation of the color, gender, or disposition you want to acquire, as we have no sure way of knowing what each litter will produce until the time of its arrival.

If we don't already have a puppy like what you're looking for, join our Contact List so we can let you know when our next litter has been born. Its FREE to do so and all you have to do is send us your contact information. We'll keep you informed of each new litter as soon as it arrives.

How often should I bathe my puppy? Give your puppy a bath only when he/she smells or is dirty. Be careful to not let the water get in his/her ears, which can cause ear infections. Keep shampoo from getting into his/her eyes, too. Dry your puppy immediately so that he/she doesn't get chilled. Just as with human babies, puppies can't regulate their body temperature, so its best to make sure the bath enviroment isn't drafty or too cold. Make sure to read the labels on shampoos as some are for adult dogs only and others with flea/tick prevention included could be lethal to a small puppy or dog if overused.

How often should my puppy see the Veterinarian? You should take your pup for regular checkups and vaccinations. Check with the veterinarian of your choice to see what their schedule of vaccinations and check ups is and then be sure to make and keep your appointments. By raising a puppy, you have chosen to be responsible for a life. Its your responsibility to make sure your puppy has the medical care and attention it needs just as if it were your child. By giving your puppy the extra care and attention it needs, not only  are you saving money in the long run, but you are extending your dog's life.

Do you require contracts to be signed for the sale of a puppy? Yes. After you have considered all the aspects of the Toy Fox Terrier breed and you've decided it is the right breed for you and your lifestyle, we will fax or email you a copy of our Sales Contract/Puppy Guarantee.  We do accept deposits to hold a puppy. However, we do not provide this service for unborn puppies.  After you have made the complete payment for your puppy and all paperwork has been signed, we will then make arrangements for you to recieve your puppy.

Do you ship your puppies? We do not ship our puppies through airlines as these are tiny puppies and feel it would be too stressful for the puppy. We will consider other options such as a Pet Courier Service, however.

What methods of Payment do you accept?    We accept Cash or Money Orders Only.  Also, its best to email us at ross_63841@sbcglobal.net when you have sent off any form of payment. (To be on the safe side, we ask you to NOT send cash through the mail as we will not be held liable for any lost payments.) Also, when making a payment via mail, we advise you to use certified or registered mail so the payment can be tracked. We will email you when your payment has arrived.

Are Your Puppies Registered? We sell our puppies with a nonrestrictive UKC (United Kennel Club) registration. This means that we do not require a contract saying you will not breed your dog or that you have to have it spayed or neutered. The only stipulations in our sales contract is that they and/or their offspring NEVER be placed in any sort of puppy mill sales, broker sales, or pet store sales situation(s). Our puppies are guaranteed to be Healthy Pet Quality Puppies. We do not charge show quality prices or guarantee that you are buying a show dog. That's not to say that some of our puppies will not become show dogs or that we are selling anything less than top quality puppies!  However, we simply feel that the label of "Show Quality" can only be proven when a dog has reached full maturity so as to determine its faults. We feel that you cannot assume a puppy is a show dog based on its pedigree or the fact that its extremely cute as a puppy.

Which is better--- A Male Or A Female Pup?  Although many folks like the little females better simply because that's all they've ever had or because they've heard the horror stories of how the males mark everything in the house with urine, the males most often make the better family pet. They are not as independant as the female, nor do they have the mood swings that the females go through during their reproducing years. Its a good idea to have your male puppy neutered when he is about 4 - 5 months old. When this occurs, they rarely have the tendacy to mark their territories  as so many owners are afraid of them doing on their expensive sofa or family heirlooms.  Male TFTs are loyal to death and make wonderful pets and companions. If you decide to have your male pet neutered, it will protect his health, help him live longer, and be a better pet as he will improve his manners in the home.

What should I feed my puppy? Your Puppy needs to be fed a top quality  puppy food until 1 year of age and then a top quality adult dog food for the rest of his/her life.  You should always provide an adequate water supply for your pup/dog.

In the summer months, if you dog is outside or is, by chance, in an enviroment where it is really hot, you should supply cool water at least every 2 hours as to keep his/her core temperature cool. We give our TFTs soda bottles with frozen water inside, as they will lay on them or chew/mouthe them. It gives them a "new" toy to play with in the summer time, as well as keeps them cooler in the extreme heat. You can also freeze chicken broth into ice cubes for a cool summer treat. (Make sure to use a brand that has low sodium.) Our TFTs love these!

We also recommend giving your puppy Nutrical.(It comes in a tube and is found at most pet stores and veterinarian's offices.) We suggest giving it twice a day as a treat to lick off your finger, after meals,  or you can even place it directly on their food.) A small dab will do and it gives your growing pup  the extra calories they need.
